Reaction score. 62. #37 · Dec 23, 2019. After reading this thread, I purchased a Kimber 8 round magazine for my P938. I put it through its paces today and it performed flawlessly. There was one minor hiccup however. When the magazine is emptied, the slide release will not work with the empty magazine in the pistol.

Had to use a screwdriver and twist the barrel in the chamber area to get it to release. The Kimber is a bit lighter and a tad narrower. It's also a minutely longer. But holding them both, I can see how the P938's six round mag would fit the Kimber (no news on extended mags for the Micro). Went with the Micro 9. My buddy has the P938, likes it as well. The Sig has an external extractor and two-piece guide rod, but otherwise they are the same gun other than aesthetics. The guide rod is known to dismember and fly forward without warning.
