John Deere Cyclone 340 Snowmobile was one of the sleds from the brand that solidified its reputation. It was a family-class sled that delivered the performance expected from a sports model. The sled was in production from 1976 to 1978 and utilized a front motor chassis derived from the JD340/S John Deere snowmobile.

Update 2/10/10 : Houghton Lake Michigan Snowmobiling Trail Report and Conditions. 9.00am It snowed till about 3am, but the total was only about 3" or so. The snow will make it easier to get around town, and access to the North is better across county Rd 300. Trails were not too bad overall. There were a few water holes but nothing crazy. Actually a bunch of other people had the same idea. I am guessing over 15" of fresh by Krupps. Unfortunately, as a joint decision between the Sawyer County Snowmobile and ATV Alliance and Sawyer County Forestry, the Sawyer County trails remain closed due to safety.
